I was born in Corpus Christi but I grew up in Conroe, Texas. I have an older brother who also attends UT. He is a chemical engineering major and a cellist; I have enjoyed having the opportunity to experience Austin with him. As a young person, I have always been (and still am) inspired and motivated by my parents, who encourage me to explore my interests and develop my talents. I have been a ballet dancer for thirteen years, I played the violin for five years, and am highly interested in the arts. I hope to be personally involved in the world of dance, poetry, novels and music in my future, whether I am a direct participant, or solely a journalistic observer. God has given me a heart to be burdened for untold stories, whether that is locally or internationally; I am as equally interested in community news as I am in international news. I am attracted to stories that arouse indignation and inspire people to feel strongly about things that ought to be felt strongly about. I have never had the opportunity to travel outside of the States, but it is officially marked down on my agenda to travel the world, and grant people the opportunity to have their stories told in a straight-forward and honest way.
